Out for a walk

I survived my first week of CFI. We had a lot of inclement weather but
I still managed to fly a little and learn a lot. To celebrate, we went
to the park north of town for a nice getaway.

Radar art

The blue dot is me again, perched on the rooster tail of rain that
spoiled my first day of flight instructor training.

Thy fearless flight instructor

Moody has requested that I get my CFI (certified flight instructor).
This is Gene. He has been tasked with helping me navigate that process
and turn me into a flight instructor. Pray for us both as we start
Monday.

Still winter

It is still snowing here. That blue dot is me getting gobbled up by a
large storm of snow as seen on radar. Nevertheless, the airplanes
still flew today.

Morning briefing

The important thing here is the coffee. School starts at 6:45.

Before and after

The beauty of doing maintenance on an active fleet is that it gives us
plenty of opportunity to practice making real repairs as things crack
and wear. They are motivated to do it right because they will be
flying it the next week.

Gentry being a little less shy

These are two of my fellow instructors keeping watch over the students
and planes down below. The flags hanging from the ceiling represent
countries where students have gone into ministry after graduation.

Here we all are

Gentry is a little shy

The maintenance specialists have been working hard completely
rebuilding this 185. They recently finished getting it all back
together and completed the paint job.
They learned a lot in the process. Soon it will be back in the air.
